Fuel for agricultural vehicles
Agricultural diesel is the fuel used for machinery employed in agriculture, and it is also used as a fuel in horticultural greenhouses and activities related to agriculture. It is a product subject to a different taxation compared to other petroleum products, which is why agricultural diesel is coloured green before being sold.
In order to purchase and use agricultural diesel, certain requirements must be met, as set out in Article 2 – DM No. 454 of 14/12/2001.
Companies wishing to purchase agricultural diesel must belong to one of the following categories:
- Agricultural companies registered in the business register
- Agricultural cooperatives
- Public agricultural companies
- Drainage and irrigation consortia
- Agromechanical businesses
